I bought a new tube of red paint on the weekend - Cadmium red light (scarlet) and decided this bird feathers were the  prefect colour to try out my new tube of paint.  It makes a  lovely orange when mixed with Cadmium Yellow Medium.

Spot Breasted Orioles are native to Southern Mexico and Central America.  They measure between 21 - 24 cm in length and weigh around 50 grams.

Spot Breasted Oriole measures 2.5 x 3.5 inches and is painted on Coloufix Smooth paper.

Many thanks to Alan Schmierer for the reference photo.
